I’m a woman.
I’m also me.
I have my weaknesses.
I have my strengths.
I have a history, and a shared history.
So do you.
I don’t feel weak because I’m a woman.
I feel weak because there are some things that make me feel vulnerable.
Just like you sometimes do.
I don’t feel strong because I’m a woman.
I feel strong because there are some things that make me feel powerful.
Just like you sometimes do.
Today, I’m not a woman because of a list of personality traits that I may or may not have.
Today, I’m not a woman because I can have a baby, there are women who can’t.
Today, I’m not a woman because I have breasts and a vagina, there are women who don’t.
Today- I’m a woman because I want to be one.
Strong and empowering words. Spoken like someone who isn't blinded by the folds society uses to manipulate gender roles. I like your tone, it creates the intensity!
